Shigeyoshi Murao

1957: Shigeyoshi (Shig) Murao became manager of City Lights Bookstore in San Francisco in 1954 and soon became a co-owner with Lawrence Ferlinghetti. Murao was arrested (the charges were dropped) as the sales clerk who sold Howl, Allen Ginsberg's poem that was put on trial for alleged obscenity.
