Founded in 1980, Architectural Resources Group, Inc. (ARG) is a 60-person, full service architectural practice founded in San Francisco with offices in Pasadena and Portland. ARG provides a wide range of specialized architectural, material conservation, and planning services for rehabilitation, adaptive re-use, and new design of culturally or environmentally sensitive properties for both public and private clients.

ARG's experience includes award-winning innovative solutions for the adaptive re-use and seismic strengthening of existing structures, stabilization schemes, materials conservation, documentation and restoration of historic properties, universal access design, and design of new structures in historic contexts. The firm’s recent award-winning portfolio includes the rehabilitation of the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park; the restoration of the Huntington Art Gallery in San Marino; the seismic retrofit and rehabilitation of Pasadena City Hall; the restoration of the historic Barracks Building at the Angel Island Immigration Station; and the adaptive reuse of 21 historic buildings at Fort Baker in Sausalito to house Cavallo Point, the Lodge at the Golden Gate.

Commitment to Sustainable Design
ARG is a recognized leader in sustainable preservation. The firm integrates new strategies and technologies for energy efficiency, water efficiency, and daylighting into the historic environment while being sensitive to the historic resource. Eleven of ARG's staff members are LEED Accredited Professionals.

Awards and Recognition
The firm has received over 100 awards for excellence in architecture, historic preservation, and planning from a wide range of organizations including the American Institute of Architects, California Preservation Foundation, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. In 2006, the AIA California Council awarded ARG as Firm of the Year.
